About Me
Hi, my name is Ian Poll. My introduction to computer science was when I was four years old. When I saw the movie "Wall-E", I was intrigued about the robots. When my parents told me it was computer generated, that it wasn't real, I was hooked. From there on, I wanted to know how a computer can make things look very real. Since then, I have been making models from Lego pieces and teaching myself how to code. The first computer language I learned on my own was C#.
I have programmed competitive robots for BEST and FIRST throughout middle and high school. I have taught workshops about coding to educators and mentored students. My career goals are to create and improve autonomous and control systems for use in industry, military, medical, and exploration. My motivation and enthusiasm to promote my knowledge in computer science will enable the various fields of Robotics in advancement of human and robot interactions.
