BEST
BEST was my first robotics organization I participated in and was where I was introduced to programming. What we used to control the robot was a VEX Cortex running code mede in RobotC. I was on the team at St. Gregory the Great for two years and was a fabricator and programmer my first year then the lead programmer for my second year. We built the robots out of wood, PVC, cardboard, and other materials. The VEX Cortex was used to control Andymark motors for wheels and arms and servos to control claws and make precise movements. My code during that time was raw spaghetti, nothing but chunks of copy and pase code and redundant variables, nothing like how I code now, as far I can see. Joining the robotics team was a key moment in my life and gave me the drive and passion in robotics and programming I still have today.
