Tri-ship

Tri-ship was my first game that was an arcade survival game set in an infinitly large space. It was very bare bones, no story, no goal, just survive and try to get a high score. The only two mechanics in the game was the player's ability to transform from a space ship to a robot and that every plant and moon has a gravitational field that extends to a certain range. When a player enters a planet's (or moon's) gravity field the player would auto orient itself to the surface of the planet and apply a downward force allowing the player to walk on a sphere. When in space the player has the ability to switch from space ship to robot. In space ship form, the player could fly and rotate in all three dimentions, however when the player switches to robot form, the momentum of the ship is applyed and the player floats adrift. The enimies in Tri-ship were very simple, all the code did was face the player and fly stright and either shoot or explode depending on the enemy. All the models in Tri-ship where hand made in blender by me. One thing that I really liked about Tri-ship, was that it was set in an "infinite" space, meaning that the player can move in one direction forever and not hit a boundry, in reality when the player moved a certain distance from the origin point, (0, 0, 0), in the game, all the objects in the scene of the game would be moved in the opposite direction the player was moving and the player would be moved back to (0, 0, 0), giving the illusion of an infinite space.
